Aspen Dental Reviews

I had a 9:30 appt as a new patient. I completed the intake forms on the iPad by 9:45. As of 11:00, three people who came AFTER me were called back before me and I was still waiting. They were unable to tell me how long it would be because the dental assistant who sees new patients was with someone which indicates they called someone back before me who had a later appt time. I probably dodged a bullet because when I walked in there was a patient complaining about how many times he had to come back to get his dentures fixed.
I left at 11:00 and told them I was not rescheduling.

They take you for every dollar

They just keep billing me more and more and now they sent me to collections on a bill amount I have never received. I have never felt so violated by anyone as I have by them!

Some of the support staff would definitely be better suited to a correctional facility setting (for women) probably. I left before even seeing the dentist and I'm still shaken up by the whole experience. Which I had paid for in advance.

Visit To Aspen Dental Texas City.

In January 2024, I visited the Aspen Dental location at 2020 Gulf Freeway in Texas City, seeking treatment for tooth sensitivity and a broken crown. My experience with this office has been nothing short of distressing and unprofessional.
Dentist Huy Q. Vuong performed a crown preparation on what I later discovered was a perfectly healthy tooth, according to both my insurance and subsequent X-rays. I suspect this was done purely for financial gain. When I raised my concerns with the owner, Brian Tran, he dismissed them without addressing the core issue.
The office manager, Timna Martin, and the hygienist, Natalie Y. Turner, claimed they performed a deep cleaning on both my upper and lower teeth. However, my insurance refused to cover this procedure, stating that it was done out of order. To add insult to injury, another dentist later informed me that no deep cleaning had actually been done on my teeth.
After experiencing significant pain with the permanent crown that Dr. Vuong placed, I returned to see Brian Tran. He attributed the pain to the crown not being filed down properly and irritating the gum. However, another dentist contradicted this explanation, asserting that the tooth itself was infected—likely due to the damage caused by Dr. Vuong. I believe that Dr. Vuong's actions led to this infection and that Brian Tran attempted to cover up the mistake.
To make matters worse, Dr. Vuong did not complete all the work I paid for, yet Timna Martin refused to refund me for the unfinished work. Instead, they sent me a $3,000 bill for procedures they claim were not covered by my insurance. When I contacted my insurance, they confirmed that Dr. Vuong had performed unnecessary crown preparation on a healthy tooth and that the hygienist, Natalie Turner, had not followed the correct protocol for the cleaning.
After months of effort, I finally obtained my dental records, only to discover that my signature had been forged on several consent forms. I have reported this incident to the Texas City Police, and it is currently under investigation.
If anyone else has experienced something similar at this location, I urge you to report it to the Texas City Police.

A laundry list of complaints

A laundry list of complaints. First, they claimed some services weren't covered by our insurance when, in fact, they were. Charged us more than the allowable charge. Claims submitted were waiting to be paid, but Aspen Dental refused to submit the W-9 to our insurance, which is required by Federal law. After multiple calls, including 3-way with our insurance provider, they submitted the w-9 and were paid according to the contracted rate. They now owe us a refund of nearly $800, for services they claimed were not covered benefits. In the mean time, they forwarded the account to collections! They owe us money and sent us to collections! F@#king scumbag con artists! Avoid them at all costs!

Aspen Dental is a Scam

Rating: -000!
Stay away from Aspen Dental.
I have dental insurance and had gotten an estimate from a local dentist, but felt that the co-pay was a bit high for a chipped tooth, so I called Aspen and was told my copay would be $71. I made an appointment and when I went in, I was immediately told they needed to get a full panoramic x-ray of my mouth--this for one chipped tooth. Then, the dentist's assistant took pictures of my teeth and more traditional x-rays.
When all this one done, a hygienist came in and started looking at my teeth and told me that I needed a deep-cleaning.
And finally, the dentist walks in and starts telling me that the deep clean must be done before she can start fixing my chipped tooth and starts talking about my other teeth and what she recommends. All in all, I endured an hour of the used car sales tactics from the Aspen staff before I was asked to sit in another room and wait for the office manager who would give me an estimate for the work needed. The chipped tooth repair was estimated at $3,591 ! with an out-of-pocket of $1,115!
I went back to my dentist and had the tooth fixed for a copay of $121. Not bad at all. I only feel stupid for not having read the reviews before going to Aspen.
STAY AWAY from these scammers!

Even 1 star is too high of a rating for…

Even 1 star is too high of a rating for Aspen Dental. Trying for the last month to get them to summit a claim for my wife's dentures to my dental insurer has been impossible. Don't understand why they won't or haven't. First bill we received from Aspen Dental was about a full year after services where provided.

I booked an appointment for my daughter…

I booked an appointment for my daughter for an emergency extraction for a Saturday afternoon. when I called to verify the appointment, they said oh excuse us we’re closing early and made me an appointment for Monday morning, I told them my daughter had insurance that covered extractions, but they didn’t ask the name. She waited in pain all weekend and when we got there the person said they didn’t take that kind of insurance and we would have to pay for it! Not having the money, we had to walk out. Never to go back!

My elderly father needed new dentures…

My elderly father needed new dentures and I’m so glad I took him to Aspen Dental on Alafaya Trail in Orlando FL. He has no dental insurance and qualified for their special discount price. The team at that office was knowledgeable, competent, and very nice. His dentures were done quickly and fit perfectly. He enjoys his food now.

Zero stars if I could

Zero stars if I could. Requested a copy of medical files in April and this office ignored multiple requests. Called the office and was told to come in to pick up the records.
After arriving at the office, was told that they no longer in office requests.
Then the staff became irate and yelling. They said they can't release the records because of HIPAA. Asked how this is applicable if the patient is requesting the file.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule requires health care providers to release medical records within 30 days of receiving a request. There is no excuse for a patient having to wait 120+ days. This office is in clear violation of federal statutes. In addition, the office staff was very antagonistic and disrespectful. Stay away from this office unless you want to be disrespected and screamed at.

I would score the less than 1!

I would score the less than 1 if I could.
Here's what I told them.
No reply. Suprise?
"You office was horrible experience. Nothing you advertised happened for me. Employees, dentist, finance person not very interested in thoughtfully helping me with my teeth. Very cookie cutter service & very obvious about it. I've opted out."

Wanted one replacement, dentist wanted whole mouth for $13,000.

It was shocking that they decided instead of fixing or replacing or maybe adding a bridge, they decided to fix my entire mouth which I was having no issues with. I just wanted to smile, hug my granddaughter again. The female dentist was cold and pushy.

Lies and deceit

Lies and deceit. Went there for a routine cleaning and eval and was presented with a long list of unnecessary overpriced services including a $130 tooth brush. "Office Manager" tried some medical spiel unaware he was talking to a medical professional. Run don't walk. BTW this is the location on Tarrytown Rd. In White Plains NY.

A very dishonest dentist practice

Went to Aspen dental in Kernersville Nc. for an exam and cleaning. The dental assistant wanted to shine a blue light in my mouth to check for cancer for $30. There is no such a device, that exam done by a certified dentist. I waited 22 minutes to the dentist to see me. Then I was taken to a waiting room and waited 35 minutes for a office/finance lady. She tried to sneak a $130 toothbrush into a $80 copay and charge me $210. The deep cleaning they said I needed was fully covered by insurance. I then had to come back the next day for the cleaning. The Ins. co. said the DDS should refund the $80 bogus copay.

I'd give them no stars if I could.

I'd give them no stars if I could.
My face is numb as I write this because I walked out before they started an unnecessary procedure that I was not even informed of.
They do not communicate what is going to happen, or what they are going to do.
They rope you into unnecessary procedures to upcharge as much as they can.

Horrible experiences!

If I could give them negative stars I would. I had horrible experiences with them. They are rough and told me I had a gum disease which 2 other specialists confirmed I DID NOT afterwards. Trying to get me to do more work thru them. They would charge me and then my insurance telling me that I am paid up then bill me outrageous amounts. Stay away from them!

horrible experience

I have been a long-time patient at Aspen Dental in Novi. Recently, I had a core and crown procedure done by their team. However, I experienced significant pain afterward and sought a second opinion from another dentist. To my dismay, I discovered that the core had not been properly fixed before the crown was placed, necessitating a complete redo of the work.
Aspen Dental has already charged me for multiple visits, and I've been waiting for a month for them to decide if they will refund me so I can go to another dentist. If this situation continues, I intend to report them to the Michigan Dental Association.

Don't use Aspen Dental. Lawton, OK

Went in a month ago to talk about a denture. The dentist, Dr. Angel, insisted I have to get my denture the day they extract the teeth. No discussion. Her way or nothing. I finally agreed.
Spent weeks trying to get a denture. They tried to make one but it goes too far back on my pallet. They hemmed and hawed, went back and forth then told me they can't make it any other way. I asked if they could at least fill a cavity since I want to go elsewhere for a denture.
Spoke to the office manager to get a refund. She then made me wait probably 10 minutes to get a signature on a paper to say the dentist is dropping me. Tried to tell me if I didn't get the paper, I may not be able to get a refund!
Finally got the paper after fussing a bit and walked out.
This was after I had a terrible time with the last dentist that was in the office. I gave it 6 months and tried again.
Never again
